Sitting in the auditorium, waiting for Gwede Mantashe to emerge from the NEC meeting that has been going on all day... big issue is the Free State delegate vote.....first we were told the briefing would be at 1pm. Jackson Mthembu arrived just after 1pm and said the NEC was still talking... they would keep us notified throughout the day. Just after 6pm, an ANC official swept through the ranks of media killing time in the lounge outside and said the "NEC briefing will be between 6.30pm and 7pm". Now 6.55pm and we still live in hope.
